Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION?

Choosing the right Nursing Home for yourself or a loved one can be an overwhelming experience that you shouldn’t have to undertake on your own. Take a look at our list of most frequently asked questions, and please get in touch if you have any other questions or concerns that aren’t addressed.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FURNITURE?

Yes! Residents may bring their own furniture as space allows. Many residents bring in a dresser and a chair.  You may also bring in your own bed, providing it fits appropriately in your room and does not pose a safety hazard. We also allow residents to hang pictures in their room!

CAN I HAVE A PERSONAL REFRIGERATOR IN MY ROOM?

Yes! Residents may have a refrigerator as long as they or a family member is responsible for keeping it cleaned out. Our housekeeping supervisor will help you install it and maintain a temperature log.

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH CLOTHING?

We suggest a minimum of four outfits and four night clothes for all of our residents. Country Care staff can also mark your clothing with a permanent marker and inventory your personal items at time of admission to prevent them from being misplaced.

CAN I HAVE A PET?

We accept pets on a case by case basis.  We have had numerous cats, dogs, birds and fish accompany our residents over the years. We also have our trusty Black Lab "Mack" who usually lays lackadaisically in front of the nurses station to keep our residents company! If you have a pet question, please ask Social Service Director, Jan Rogers.

ARE PHONES PROVIDED IN RESIDENTS ROOMS?

Unfortunately phones are not provided. There are, however, phones available for our residents use in the hallways as well as the private dining room. Many of our residents also have cell phones.

HOW CAN I PAY?

We here at Country Care recognize that there can be financial difficulties associated with paying for adult care. Alongside traditional methods of payment, we accept

Medicare, Medicaid, Long-term care insurance, and Veteran Administration contracts for those who qualify.
